Disruptions
caused by the lockdown have resulted in considerable
additional economic burden on farmers because of higher
costs, increased debt burden, inability to sell the
produce at reasonable prices and crop losses. Yet
the government’s response to such agricultural distress
has been nothing short of a mockery till now.
